HAROLD LEROY LACY, 75, resident of Animas passed away Thursday November 28, 2024 at his home.

Visitation will be Monday afternoon, December 9, 2024 from 12 to 2 at Baca's Funeral Chapel where funeral services will begin at 2 o'clock with Pastor Joe Bob Newman officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in Deming.

LeRoy was born August 6, 1949 in Delta, Colorado to Harold LeRoy Lacy Sr. and Alene (Grover) Lacy.

With Heavy Hearts and profound Love that we say goodbye to our loving – Jeanie "Snookie" Montes of Silver City, NM, who passed away, November 29, 2024 at the age of 82. Born in Encino, NM, on February 10, 1942. Jeanie was the daughter of Pete and Lola Garcia.

Jeanie "Snookie" was well known through the community and church. She taught at the Silver High School for over 30 years. She loved her family and friends, always welcomed them with a home cooked meal.
In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, fishing, getting her nails and hair done, eating out with her friends and traveling. She will be missed by many and always cherished in our hearts.

She is survived by her husband, Francisco "Frank" Melendrez Montes; her son, Joseph Montes of Silver City, NM; her nine Grand-children, Pamela Duda, Julie Anne Cohn (Shawn), Kristina Sykes (Brandan), Michaela Simpson, Michael Simpson, Christian Padilla, Xavier Padilla, Adrianna Fernandez, Joey Padilla; her six Great-Grandchildren; her numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter in law, Veronica Montes; her daughter Diana Montes; her brothers, Peter Garcia Jr. and Danny Garcia; her sister, Julie Ann Garcia.

On Saturday evening of November 23, 2024, God called home His daughter Jeannine Rodriguez, née Morgan, 64, of Silver City, surrounded by family and loved ones.

She was born in Albuquerque, NM to Mr. & Mrs. Howard E. Morgan. She was a life-long resident of Grant County who enjoyed the countryside with her children, and was loved by many.

Surviving her death are her three children, Antonio, Victoria, and Alejandro Rodriguez; three grandchildren, Roman Valenzuela, Sebastian Valenzuela, and Maximiliano Sanchez all of Las Cruces, NM; six siblings, Ted Tufares of Silver City, NM; Dino Tufares and companion Petra of Las Cruces, NM; John Tufares and wife Lana of Portland, OR; Gene Morgan and wife Kathy of Belen, NM; Gary Morgan and wife Esther of Silver City, NM; and Mary Morgan of Laurel Fork, VA; eleven nieces, five nephews, and beloved extended family and friends. Preceding her death are her parents Howard E. Morgan of El Paso, TX and Katrina "Katie" Bazan of Albuquerque, NM.

Services will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the San Lorenzo Catholic Church in San Lorenzo, NM at 10:00 AM. A celebration lunch will be held in the church dining hall after the mass.

On November 10, 2024 Bill Rogers went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Our family was very blessed by the many family members and friends who came to see him in the months leading up to his death.

Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bonni Jo, his children Lori and Keith, his grandsons Cooper (Alex) and Cole, his great grandson, Cohen, and his sister Darla (Fran). He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Opal Rogers.

Bill was a man who loved and cared for his family deeply. August of 1964, Bill married Bonni Jo Ball and they formed a true partnership. Bill and BJ enjoyed many trips around the world… some of the trips could be described as "extreme" including hiking in the Himalayas, scuba diving in Honduras, climbing Huayna Picchu (the thrilling hike above Machu Picchu) and backpacking in Hawaii. They often stayed in rustic conditions and landed in some of the most dangerous airports in the world. He was a great dad and in addition to expected dad duties, he provided many incredible opportunities through travel experiences which are some of our best memories as a family. He raised his children to be people of integrity. He loved being a grandfather and was very involved in Cooper's and Cole's lives. Becoming a great grandfather was a real treat for him. Bill loved reading, being in the outdoors, horses, turkey hunting, and college football.

William Paul Embick, 75, resident of Silver City, NM, entered eternal rest Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Carondelet St. Mary's Hospital in Tucson, AZ. He was born July 4, 1949 to his parents, Levi Edward and Josephine Verta (Morrow) Embick in Silver City, NM.

Erasmo Granillo Madrid Jr., 2, Deming resident entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 23, 2024 in Palomas, Chihuahua. He was born March 16, 2022 in Deming to Erasmo Granillo and Maria Isabel Madrid.

Visitation will begin Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 5 to 6 o'clock in the evening at Baca's Funeral Chapel with the recitation of the Holy Rosary being recited at 6. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 6, 2024 at 10 o'clock in the morning at St. Ann's Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Fr. Francis Gyau, Pastor, will be officiating.

Erasmo is survived by his parents Erasmo Granillo and Maria Isabel Madrid; 3 siblings, Ivan Madrid, Jose Ornelas Madrid, and Mia Gudalupe Ornelas-Madrid. As well as his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Serving as Erasmo's pallbearers will be Heriberto Madrid, Ivan Madrid, Jose de Jesus, and Daniella de Jesus.

Patricia Baca – Jelks, 65, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 7, 2024 after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

She was born to Adan and Nellie Baca on January 23, 1959 in Deming, New Mexico. Patricia attended Deming High School where she was a member of the tennis team, student body president, prom queen and in 1977, graduated as valedictorian.

She later settled in Tucson, Arizona where she met & married James Kelly. It was there they welcomed their first daughter, Melissa. In the early 1990's they moved their family and race horse operation to Sonoita, AZ. It was then they welcomed two more daughters, Elena and Geneva.

Patricia was a devoted member of the Santa Cruz County community for several years. It was here she taught catechism, coached soccer, helped with 4H, worked at the local fairgrounds, and was a member of the local Cow Belle's.

When her daughters became older, Patricia returned to work as an EMT and eventually worked her way up to becoming a registered nurse. A couple of years later, she met and married her second husband, local cattleman Rukin Jelks III.
